about

Written spring of 2012 in Pondside 1 dorm at Keene State College. This song was inspired by a day I had with my sister, Hilary, reminiscing about childhood through old pictures we found in our attic. It was pretty easy to write because I truly feel this way. I know I'm still a kid to a lot of people, but I wish I was still a little kid, back when my sister and I could not see all the troubles of this world we live in. Back when everybody played hide and seek, wasn't afraid to sing, and our world consisted of whatever fun activity we were doing. For me, my life changed when I entered math class. Its not that I hate math, but it was math class that taught me numbers, big and small. I would then go home and watch the evening news with my parents, which usually included a number of how many people were killed in the war that day. My world view grew beyond my personal arm length after that. I will forever wish I was a little kid again.

lyrics

Verse: I want to take you on a picnic, just like we did when we were kids. Easy just living in the moment, ya life was so simple back then. And then we'd run and play hide and seek, and you try and try but you can't find me. Lay back and land in a pile of leaves, and laugh at the clouds as we stare through the trees.

Chorus: Oh do you remember, it being better, when we were kids. Oh 'cause it didn't matter, how different we were, we were cool with it. So if I had one wish, I wish I was a kid.

Verse2: We'd flow with the breezes on the swings, and no one was afraid to sing. Lick lollipops in shape of rings, trying hard to sit still but we're laughing. Why did we have to all grow out of our shoes that tied in velcro? I sure hope kids never have to know the world as I see it, 'cause its so trouble.

Chorus: Oh do you remember, it being better, when we were kids. Oh 'cause it didn't matter, how different we were, we were cool with it. So if I had one wish, I wish I was a kid.

Bridge: Not a man, trying for things that I can't have. If I could just get it all back, life was so sweet before there was math class.

Chorus: Oh do you remember, it being better, when we were kids. Oh 'cause it didn't matter, how different we were, we were cool with it. So if I had one wish, I wish I was a kid.
